Core Concrete

Core concrete

branding, web design

The project was to design a logo and branding system, which would then translate to web design, for a concrete company that designs and creates custom countertops for commercial and residential properties. It was important for this women-owned small business to not be too cold and industrial, while also maintaining a look that would be sleek and universal for worldwide consumption. The final stipulation was that it had to be simple and clear enough that it would stamp well into their finished concrete projects (which you can see if you stick around until the bottom of the page).

With that objective in mind, I created this logo mark by manipulating an existing font to create a truly unique wordmark. We kept the brand clean and simple using only creme and charcoal for logo versions, introducing limited accent colors as needed in the web design.

In collaboration with the development team we made the website come to life. You can see the design I delivered below, and visit the website here to explore to full site.

Logo Come To Life

Seeing my logo stamped into their product is a great reminder of how important the marriage of functionality and beauty is. Not to mention how a logo stamped in concrete could last a lifetime, so that logo better be able to stand the test of time!
